Davante Adams thanked both the Las Vegas Raiders and the team's fans in an Instagram post on Tuesday after being traded to the New York Jets for a conditional 2025 third-round pick.

He also showed off some custom, Jets-themed cleats on his Instagram Stories.

Adams will now be reunited with his former quarterback from his Green Bay Packers days, Aaron Rodgers. The two seem pretty thrilled to be wearing the same jersey again, as Adams happily crashed Rodgers' weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show:

As part of the trade, the Jets agreed to take on the remainder of Adams' contract for the 2024 season, though the two sides agreed to restructure the deal, lowering his cap hit this season.

The deal will give the Jets a strong top-three at the wideout position with Adams, Garrett Wilson and longtime Rodgers' favorite, Allen Lazard, now available in the passing game. Add in running back Breece Hall, and the Jets have no more excuses on offense from a weapons standpoint.

That offense has struggled yet again in 2024 despite having a healthy Rodgers, ranking 23rd in scoring (18.8 PPG) and 22nd in yardage (304.3 YPG). The Jets (2-4) have responded in a big way to their overall struggles, firing head coach Robert Saleh last week, demoting offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett from play-calling duties and now trading for Adams.

As for the veteran wideout, the 31-year-old wideout had a fairly contentious three years in Las Vegas. He was the subject of trade rumors last season, appeared unhappy with the quarterback situation in 2023 and things quickly soured again this year.

New York should provide Adams with a better overall situation, given his familiarity with Rodgers. But anything short of a playoff appearance, given all of the in-season moves the team has undergone, will be viewed as an enormous disaster.
