Powered by ProPLAY

2 of 3

In a continued effort to improve the annual release's gameplay, 2K has introduced ProPLAY, which uses animations taken directly from NBA game film to provide players with the most realistic, true-to-the-game product.

The addition promises, "1,100 signature shot animations" and "over 1,300 new off-the-ball animations." It also features 150 signature moves, staying true to the players that dazzle fans on the court.

Developers have also enhanced the dribbling engine in this year's release, with the game's official website claiming, "It goes beyond animations, and turns movement with the ball into one holistic, dynamic piece of motion, one-to-one with how players dribble in real life."

Among other improvements to gameplay are signature shots, improved shot timing, pro stick rhythm shooting, and a brand new defensive cutoff system, which means the players you utilize at home may have a stronger defensive skill set than the real-life athletes they represent.

Finally, the developers have utilized AI to improve the game's difficulty, with adjustments no longer based solely on shooting percentage.

Overall, the team at 2K has worked to provide players with the most authentic experience, something in demand regarding sports games today.

My Career, MyGM, My NBA, and The Curry Era

3 of 3

The MyCareer allows gamers to create their player and follow them throughout their basketball life, from high school to the NBA.

The new takeover system allows gamers to train their player to improve through five levels, beginning with "heating up" and culminating with "red hot." Those levels are achieved through on-court play and will prepare the created player to mix it up with the top stars in the league.

The Dynasty Rankings option allows the gamer, their player, and their team to compare their rise to the nine greatest dynasties in NBA history, including Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls. =

The MyGM mode allows you to fill the role of the most powerful, team-building executive on the team, from appearance to day-to-day operations.

Gamers can also compete for the NBA Cup in a single-elimination tournament that supports anywhere from 12 to 36 teams as part of the MyNBA mode.

Finally, Steph Curry just re-signed with the Golden State Warriors, ensuring his era of the team's history will continue through the 2026-27 season.

In this year's offering from 2K, fans can relieve the dominance of the Curry and Warriors' championship dynasty and attempt to rewrite the history books by changing the outcomes of key games.

All are typical modes from a sports game in 2024, but with the added elements that typically makes 2K games the fan-favorites that they are.
